Five States Energy Capital, LLC is a continuation of Five States’ 25 year history of investing in the oil and gas industry. The original Five States investment partnerships have been consolidated into three partnerships: Five States Consolidated I, II and III. Energy Capital is the new focal point of oil and gas investment activity within Five States.
The current fund, Five States Energy Capital (“FSEC”) Fund 1, LLC was started in 2007 and reopened in 2009 to raise a total of $106 million of committed capital in two tranches. FSEC Fund 1 is designed to invest primarily in oil and gas properties either via financing the interests of others who are seeking development capital or through the acquisition of direct ownership interest in producing properties.
Energy Capital invests in oil and gas projects which meet specific criteria including:
Location:
- Permian Basin, New Mexico, Mid-Continent, and the Rocky Mountains, with a preference for long-life properties in oil or gas.
Size:
- Target range: $5 million to $40 million
- Deals above $40 million+ will depend upon the asset
Deal Structure:
- Financing development of existing properties
- Acquisition of working interests
